Fons Hickmann is a distinguished graphic designer and professor renowned for his innovative and creative work in the design world. He leads Fons Hickmann m23, a Berlin-based studio specializing in visual communication, tackling projects in graphic design, corporate identity, book, and poster design. Hickmann's work is characterized by its strong conceptual orientation and the ability to communicate complex content in an aesthetically appealing and understandable manner. He has received numerous awards, and his projects are frequently featured in international design publications. Beyond his design work, Hickmann influences through his roles as an author and educator, sharing his knowledge and passion for design with the next generation. His approach, often described as experimental and transgressive, has significantly shaped visual communication.
Since 2018, Hickmann has served as the president of the »100 Best Posters« association, celebrating top poster designs from Austria, Germany, and Switzerland. He is a member of prestigious design organizations such as the TDC New York and AGI Alliance Graphique International. He has a diverse educational background in design, photography, and philosophy. Hickmann is renowned for his significant contributions to design education, having lectured and conducted workshops globally, and is a professor at the Berlin University of the Arts.
